We are putting here the reviews of our releases only as the archive information about bands. Positive impressions are already heard by us long time ago from the right people - You know who You are - Hail!
As about all these "negative" and "bad" feedbacks - we often find them funny and interesting for ourselves. Especially it is funny to hear that somebody "knows" what we are doing better than us. It is more pleasing to feel that You have caused somebody's "discontent", than to read neutral and boring "opinions"... Also, it is joyful to get to know something "new" about ourselves... Anyway, the authors of these reviews will never get any comments from us, because only guilty need justification. We are leaded by the Superior Principle, and we are going only straight and forth, independent from all this romping around us... 666!

DECREPIT CAULDRON
"Wirklichkeit Altera Pars"
Format Reviewed: Pro CD-R, Handnumbered #57/150
Style: Macabre Black/Death Metal
Label: BLACK HORDE PRODUCTIONS
Country: Ukraine

Fucken strictly limited to 150 handnumbered Pro CD-R copies, and only available from one place in the world, the young Russian label named BLACK HORDE PRODUCTIONS, "Wirklichkeit Altera Pars" have been composed from 1999 to 2001 and recorded in 2003. With rather lengthy tracks, the shortest being 10:42 long, DECREPIT CAULDRON has concocted us a Black/Death Metal rather technical, macabre, melodic and heavy. The songs would almost be only instrumental, if it wasn't of some extremely rare appearances of a distant voice whose not without reminding the over-mentioned Count Grishnackh. When I wrote "distant", I meant it's like if I recorded the moan of a carcajou lost in the woods from my house with the window half-closed. About the drums, I couldn't yet make my mind about it... Is it the most realistic sounding drumsprog in the world? Or the tightest drummer in the world? Well... Yours to judge and make your own mind! All the texts are scriptured in a mix of Latin and English and revolutionize around such themes as Death, Decrepitude, Putrescence, Ominous Scents, and still... Death. I must say that to me DECREPIT CAULDRON is a cold shower! It's surprising to witness Ukrainian Black Metal that isn't Pagan/Folk nor satanically matter of a laugh. Well, "Wirklichkeit Altera Pars" is a very good album. I should contact them to know if they still have some used Kalachnikovs to sell... Nah, seriously, if the envy of discovering this off-trail Black Metal band take you, you better move your ass!!! According to my copie's number, it may remains something like 90... Maybe 80 copies available... 70... 60... 50... 40... 30... 20... 10... Fuck You!!!

DECREPIT CAULDRON - 2005 - "Wirklichkeit Altera Pars"

Out of the Ukraine comes this Black Metal outfit with their 5 track debut. Presented on this album are 4 long tracks of mid-paced to fast, slightly melodic technical Black Metal with an epic feel. Apart from the intro, all of the tracks are over 10 minutes long.
Musically this reminds me of a lot of different bands. STINY PLAMENU, KAMPFAR, SORHIN and OPHTHALAMIA are some of the bands I hear in the mix here, as well as some METALLICA sounding parts plus influences from both Death Metal and Thrash. I heard quite a few later OPHTHALAMIA parts, which was somewhat unexpected. There is at times a rather Eastern European feel to the music as well, but it is surprisingly absent most of the time.
The vocals remind me somewhat of those by KAMPFAR, though more muffled and distant, as well as those in early FLEURETY.
The soundquality is not at all bad. At the front of the mix there is the drummachine and the keyboard, followed by the guitar and then the vocals further back. The drummachine does get a bit annoying at times, I must say, though I am not fond of the sound of one, so I might be extra sensitive to this. However, this is a rather interesting and quite unpredictable album to listen to, which is most refreshing. Standout tracks are "Prae Porta Ad Noctum", "Incarnation For The Blackest" and "Opus Aexestentialis". If you like your music varied and quite unpredictable I suggest you check this out.
